The Great Gatsby-15

The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald, was a book I really enjoyed. It had many hidden meanings and it was a book that was easy to comprehend. Although things did not end well romantically for anyone, Nick was able to find his true self at the end. He was able to understand that sometimes you reach so far for you dreams that you don't realize that like Gatsby, you fail to grasp what you already have. "And as I sat there brooding on the old, unknown world, I thought of Gatsby's wonder when he first picked out the green light at the end of Daisy's dock. He had come a long way to this blue lawn, and his dream must have seemed so close that he could hardly grasp it" [Fitzgerald, 180]. Fitzgerald did not make a happy ending, but it was a peaceful ending. Nick learned a lot with his friend Gatsby, that was for sure.
